The pair chance increases by 4% for each point of [[luck]],<ref name="1.6.1nerf"/> maxing out at 80% with 5 luck.<ref name="maxout"/> If a [[Backpack]] was used, a pair is guaranteed.{{needs testing}}

Rescues that don't grant a pair will “fail” and grant no animal. Failing a rescue while a [[Curse of Blindness]] is active or the [[Blindfold]] cosmetic is equipped will grant [[Visible Confusion]].

==Strategy==
Using Cursed Dice on its own is not recommended. A rescue grants exactly 1 animal on average, compared to the usual 1.05 (from the base pair chance). Methods to consistently increase your luck, like [[Virtual Machine]] or a [[Chains|shackled curse]], can offset this.

The high pair chance means [[Kraken]]'s ability will trigger very often.
