Animals are a primary part of zoo and increasing your animal count is arguably the goal of Zoo overall. You can rescue a common animal (or rarely a pair of animals) using /rescue every 6 hours, being one of the most consistent and easy ways to obtain animals.
Animals are a major element in Zoo. There are common and rare animals, both of which are obtained in several different ways. Each common animal has a rare animal counterpart, which is equivalent to five of the common animal and can be obtained using the <code>/exchange</code> command. In total, there are 100 unique animals a player can collect, split equally with 50 common and 50 rare animals.


Being one of the main elements of Zoo, a lot of other mechanics revolve around or involve animals to some degree. Leaders, for example, can only be attracted by amassing large quantities of animals.

Animals are a major element in Zoo. There are common and rare animals, both of which are obtained in several different ways. Each common animal has a rare animal counterpart, which is equivalent to five of the common animal and can be obtained using the /exchange command. In total, there are 100 unique animals a player can collect, split equally with 50 common and 50 rare animals.

The player's total number of animals is tallied up into Score (Score icon), which serves as a basic way of calculating the value of a player's profile, as well as unlocking features at specific milestones, such as the Zoo Shop™ or some Cosmetics.

Most of the entire gameplay loop of Zoo is based around collecting more animals or using them as a currency to unlock other features.

Common animals[edit | edit source]

Common animals are the core part of zoo, they can be viewed with the /animals command or using the $zoo list terminal command. Each common animal has stats that usually affect rescues, such as Types, Favorite Leaders, Tags, etc.. Common animals have unique comments when you rescue them. If a pair is rescued, it will also have unique comments.

One common animal is worth 1 zoo score.

Every common animal has an associated rare animal variant. These are harder to obtain, equivalent in value to five of the common counterpart, with the main way of obtaining being to use the /exchange command to trade five of a common animal for one of the rare variant.
