Rescue notifications
The specific instructions are:
- anything that affects the notification other than downtime/VM?
- history
- section on auto-rescues
- items (lure, battery)
Rescue notifications[note 1] are a number in Zoo profiles. When the rescue cooldown expires and the player has at least one notification, the Zoo bot will DM them a reminder to rescue. Notifications can be obtained in various ways, primarily by using items.
Zoo reminders can be paused with /settings. The terminal command $ defer can be used to disable reminders for the current rescue.
Flavor text
After receiving 18 notifications, all future notifications use a random humorous message in place of “You're able to rescue another animal!”. Messages are chosen from this list:

The clock emoji in reminder messages represents the number of notifications remaining modulo 12 (for example, 🕒 when 15 notifications are left).
Notifications received with Virtual Machine equipped have unique flavor text, and the button reminds the player to rescue with /terminal.
Notifications received while a curse of downtime is active have unique flavor text and a message that reminds the player of the curse.
