Fishing is an optional activity in Zoo which lets you redeem some of your work fishing for rewards like reducing rescue cooldown, or simply have fun catching fish.
If you're looking for the legacy / outdated information about the $ fishy terminal command see Fishy

Starting out edit

To fish you need to unlock it by giving (paying) one Aquatic Animal to Tetsu. You will be prompted to do this the first time you ran the /fish command.

Players who have crafted a Fishing Rod before the update in Fishy (in the Terminal) are grandfathered in and don't have to pay the aquatic animal to start playing. This is no longer possible to do, as fishy has been converted into a small easter egg command since the Fishing update came out.

Catching fish edit

To catch fish you have to pay 10 pebbles, this lets you get one of:

  • Common fish
  • Uncommon fish
  • Trash
  • Treasure

This uses up the bait you have equipped.

Selling edit

You may sell fish, trash and treasure you have in your inventory at the following default rates (rates may be affected by the fishing rod you have currently selected, prices shown for every rod part being 'basic')

Prices (in pebbles)
Common fish 8
Uncommon fish 5
Trash 18
Treasure 40
